Note: Performance metrics are shown for meters, buildings, and groups. Enter your building’s square footage on its Building info tab to enable square-footage-based metrics.
The TTM metrics page shows key performance metrics for operations, costs, energy use, and peak demand, each compared to the prior twelve months.
Operations
- Load factor: The ratio of average demand to peak demand, expressed as a percentage. Gridium calculates daily load factor values, then averages them across the trailing twelve months.
- Balance point: The temperature where your building begins mechanical cooling, calculated daily and averaged over 12 months. Technically, this is an inflection point in the temperature response curve, fit using 12 months of data.
- Start: The average startup time across the trailing twelve months. Daily start times are calculated for open days only; closed days are excluded.
- Shutdown: The average shutdown time across the trailing twelve months. Daily shutdown times are calculated for open days only; closed days are excluded.
Energy use
- Total use: The total kWh used over the past 12 months.
- kWh/sf: Total use divided by building square footage. Requires square footage to be entered on the Building info tab.
- Open days: The total kWh used over all open days in the past 12 months, divided by the number of open days.
- Closed days: The total kWh used over all closed days in the past 12 months, divided by the number of closed days.
- Excess: Total excess off-hours use (kWh above baseload during shutdown time) over the past year, divided by 365. This borrows the excess off-hours calculation from the Usage tab’s daily summary.
Peak demand
- Baseload: Gridium’s current estimate of the meter’s expected baseload kW, based on the latest data available.
- Peak: The average of the highest kW reading in each of the past 12 calendar months.
- Area: The square footage figure entered on your Building info tab.
