Supercharge portfolio management with custom groups. Creating a group of meters makes it easy to collect different parts of your portfolio together, and they can be used to view total energy use and other aggregated key performance metrics.

Groups can either be private–visible only to their creator–or shared with everyone in your organization. Optionally include every submeter, or a subset of submeters from within one building.

Creating a new group in Snapmeter

Click through the folder icon on the lefthand-side navigation column to create a new group or edit an existing one.

Three steps to create a group

  1. Select the open folder icon on the left hand side toolbar and click the blue Create a new group button
  2. Name your new group and optionally select the checkbox for sharing
  3. Manage group meters by selecting the checkbox next to each meter’s name (use the search box to filter your list)…and don’t forget to click the Save group button!

Editing and deleting a group

Mistakes happen, and things change. Thankfully, editing and deleting groups is easy.

To edit a group:

  1. Select the open folder icon on the left hand side toolbar choose the group from Meter groups menu that opens up.
  2. Click the pencil icon at the right of the Group name towards the top of the page…and don’t forget to click the Save group button.

To delete a group:

  1. Select the open folder icon on the left hand side toolbar choose the group from Meter groups menu that opens up.
  2. Click the trashcan icon at the right of the Group name towards the top of the page and confirm this choice with the Yes, delete it button.

Once you delete a group, it can not be recovered. Recreating it, of course, is always an option!

Budget forecasts

Gridium uses historical data from your buildings to forecast future energy use and costs. However, the past isn’t a perfect guide to the future. You can use the Gridium budget forecast as is, without further modification, or you can treat it as a starting point onto which you can layer further planning assumptions. This guide will help you understand the forecast and make any desired updates.
