PG&E data sharing

PG&E has implemented new data sharing features that allow you to securely grant access to Gridium. Follow these steps to ensure uninterrupted access to your energy use and cost data.

The sharing features allow Gridium to aggregate your energy data while ensuring that your account remains safe. This guide will walk you through the steps for setting up third-party data access.

Note that you need to share access with the specific contact information provided to you: name, email address, and phone number. If you aren’t sure what contact information to use, please reach out to us at support@gridium.com.

Share your first utility account with Gridium

  1. Log into your new PG&E account. (If you haven’t set up your new account yet, the site will walk you through the set-up process.)
  2. After signing in, you will see a see a section toward the bottom of the page where you can “Add another person.” Click the “Add person” link.

  3. Click “Give account access.”
  4. On the next screen, you will be asked to enter the contact information that Gridium provided to you. It’s important to enter the first name, last name, email address, and phone number that we provided to you, as they are specific to your account.
  5. When asked if you are sharing access with another employee, select “No, I am giving access to someone outside the company.”
  6. For access level, select “High.” This gives Gridium full data access but still restricts our ability to perform sensitive actions.
  7. Click “Send Invitation.”

Repeat the process for all of your utility accounts

You just completed the sharing process for a single utility account. Depending on the size of your organization, you may have multiple utility accounts associated with your login. If so, you need to repeat the sharing process for each one:

  1. Return to the home page by choosing menu item Account > My Account Dashboard.
  2. You should see a selector in the top right of the page labeled “Account.”

  3. If you have more than one account available, choose the next one in the list and repeat the sharing process.
  4. Do this for every utility account associated with your login.

When Gridium receives the sharing invitations, we will complete the set-up on our end, ensuring a complete view of your energy use and cost data.
