Store and manage information related to your vendors—including certificates of insurance—in Tikkit to ensure that your service history is always up to date.
How Tikkit manages vendor data
Vendors come in all shapes and sizes. Some are mom and pop shops—a guy with a truck. Others have nationwide branches. Tikkit can handle both, and everything in between.
A vendor in Tikkit is meant to be a company, but if the company consists of a single individual or a central dispatch, that’s no problem—you can assign to the company directly.
In other cases, you may have specific technicians that you work with and like to contact directly. That’s fine too—you can set up as many technicians as you like and associate them all with a vendor.
Viewing and editing vendors, including service history
To access data for a vendor:
- Click on the “People” tab at the top of the page.
- Select “Vendors” in the left-hand navigation bar.
- Click on an individual vendor to view details. Use the search box to narrow the list.
Once you access an individual vendor, you will see tabs for service history, technicians, and certificates of insurance.
To edit a vendor, click the “Edit vendor” button in the upper right.
Creating new vendors
To create new vendors, go to the Vendor page as described above, and click the “New vendor” button. Enter the required data and any optional fields.
After you’ve created the new vendor, you’ll be asked whether you want to upload certificates of insurance or add any technicians. Click the relevant button to do so.
Adding or editing trades
Every vendor has a trade, such as plumber, electrician, etc. You can set up your list of trades however you like. To manage trades:
- Click on the gear icon in the upper right to access your settings.
- Click on Customizations in the left-hand navigation bar.
- Click the “Vendor trades” tab.
Here you can delete trades, edit the names of existing trades, or create new ones.
You can also create new trades when you add new vendors, by clicking the “Add a trade…” link.
