Key Account Manager

Gridium is looking for a Key Account Manager to help us manage the next generation of energy and operations software tools for buildings. This is a mid level position focused on customer success.

About the job

A Key Account Manager will be responsible for all customer account management matters for a set of Gridium customers. This includes:

  • Assisting customers with achieving deep energy savings in their buildings
  • Providing customers with advice and expertise on energy management, building operations, utility bills/rates, sustainability, and other topics related to energy use in commercial real estate
  • Building and maintaining strong, long-lasting customer relationships
  • Ensuring the timely and successful delivery of our solutions according to customer needs and objectives
  • Developing new business with existing clients and collaborating with the sales team to identify and grow opportunities

Requirements

  • Significant (4+ years) prior work experience in Account Management. Preference will be given to candidates with in field experience. Candidates with extensive experience in Energy Management, Commercial Real Estate, Sustainability or other relevant roles will also be considered
  • Candidates with expertise in aspects of energy management in commercial office buildings are preferred. Candidates with exceptional mechanical intuition or demonstrated competency in a related technical field should apply and prepare to learn building operations at breakneck speed
  • Ability to travel monthly to visit in person with customers
  • Strong business acumen and judgment and ability to negotiate account expansion. The position will be partly measured on revenue goals from retention and expansion
  • Experience with CRM software (Salesforce) and Office / Google Apps (particularly Excel / Sheets)
  • Bachelor’s degree required. Masters degree in a relevant area preferred
  • You must currently live in, and have the legal right to work in the United States

Salary and Benefits

The position comes with a base salary in the range of $80-100k based on prior experience, a generous commission policy that can significantly increase compensation above the base salary, an equity grant, a 401(k) with 4% match, a great health plan, vision, dental, generous parental leave, and a flexible vacation policy — we want you to take the time off you need so that you are happy and productive.
