Data and Operations Team Lead

Gridium is looking for a Data and Operations Team Lead to help us manage the next generation of energy and operations software tools for buildings. This is a mid-level position focused on internal operations.

About the job

Gridium retrieves energy use and billing data from hundreds of utilities across the United States. The data team at Gridium, led by the Data and Operations Team Lead, is responsible for customer provisioning, data acquisition, data quality, and custom reports.

The Data and Operations Team Lead’s workload will be roughly split between:

  • Managing the projects and workload of a small team of full-time data analysts and outsourced contractors.
  • Creating and managing internal processes to help the team scale and improve quality. This includes writing specifications for data scrapers and internal admin tools for the software engineering team to develop.
  • Performing client data support, especially for our largest customers, around Energy Star Portfolio Manager and with our utility contacts.

Requirements

  • 4+ year experience as a business analyst, operations analyst, project manager, data analyst or other similar position.
  • Prior experience as a team leader or manager.
  • Prior experience writing product or process specifications is preferred.
  • Prior experience in energy, commercial real estate, sustainability or other relevant domains is valued. However, candidates without this experience are encouraged to apply and would be provided with comprehensive training.
  • Expertise with office productivity software, especially spreadsheets.
  • Bachelor’s degree required. Masters degree in a relevant area preferred.
  • You must currently live in, and have the legal right to work in the United States.

Salary and Benefits

The position comes with an annual salary in the range of $80-110k based on prior experience, an equity grant, a 401(k) with 4% match, a great health plan, vision, dental, generous parental leave, and a flexible vacation policy — we want you to take the time off you need so that you are happy and productive.
